A Trip to the Farmer’s Market

Jul 26 2011

After investigating the benefits of shopping local, Sea•thos decided to take trip to the South Pasadena farmer’s market this past week.  Every Thursday, rain or shine, friends and neighbors gather at Meridian Avenue to shop for food and flowers and listen to local entertainers.  One of our favorite vendors was Deisy’s Tasty Food, which sold pupusas and a variety of freshly squeezed lemonade.  Los Pipes served funnel cakes, churros, and shaved ice that was popular with the kids looking for a treat to cool off with.  After enjoying our lunch, we filled our Sea•thos tote with veggies from McGrath family farms, Stockton potatoes from Zuckerman, and roses from Venegas Creek Roses.  Shopping local doubled as both a healthy and sustainable choice!
