As reported by Sea•thos on June 28, 2011, Happy Feet, the penguin who lost his way migrating and landed up in New Zealand, is now catching a ride home!
Happy Feet, who has had multiple surgeries due to incorrectly ingesting sand for snow, is now healthy enough to be relocated back home in the sub-Arctic ocean. He will travel on a research vessel on August 29, 2011 and will be released after four days at sea. His departure coordinates will approximately be at a latitude of 53 degrees south and overall progress will be monitored by a GPS tracking device.
We are very happy that this amazing story has turned out to be a positive animal rescue!
