New Surf Museum

Jul 06 2011

The weekend of 6/25 marked the opening of Steven Holl’s Cité de l’Océan et du Surf, “a museum dedicated to surf, the ocean and their roles upon our leisure, science, and ecology.”  The museum’s shape is a stone mimic of waves and has a “direct sight line to the beach.”  The structure also features two glass buildings that mirror a pair of boulders on the shore.  The museum was “designed in collaboration with artist and architect, Solange Fabião” and is a monument to the celebration of the ocean and its beauty.  To learn more and see pictures go to How Green Design Will Save The World.
