Plastic Bag Ban Effective Today in Santa Monica!

Sep 01 2011

Single-use plastic bags are now banned in Santa Monica, as of today. If a shopper does not bring their own reusable bag, paper bags will be available for 10 cents each.

The ban shows an effort by the local community to cut down on plastic bag waste and consumption, a major source of pollution on land and in water.

If you have not taken our Plastic Bag Ban, please do so here! You can pledge to stop using plastic bags for 3 or 6 months, 1 year, or forever! Share it with your friends and family via Facebook and Twitter too!

And be sure to purchase our Sea•thos Summer Tote in the shop, helping reduce plastic bag waste in your local community.

  1. We must ban plastic bags. Many people will never change their habits otherwise.
